In 2007 the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of July Cologne in Germany will be the place to be for the goth scene, since the cities most special venue ‘Tanzbrünnen’ will once again be the stage for the well known
Amphi Festival. Let’s take a closer look at the impressive line-up!
» The location: Tanzbrünnen in Cologne
Saturday
Different from last year the second stage now goes by themes. On Saturday you’ll be able to find the best of the harshest music in the scene at the ‘Industrial / Electro stage’, and on Sunday the ‘Gothic Special stage’ will treat you on performances from some very special gothic bands.
So what can we find at the ‘Industrial / Electro stage’? Besides gigs of
Xotox,
Trial, and
Spetznaz you’ll be able to hear what Ant Zen act
P.A.L and
Winterkälte have to offer, damage your ears with the lovely noises of
Sonar and end the evening with an energetic performance by the guys of
Feindflug. Not so much into noise? Or want to explore some more music? Don’t worry: we still have the main stage!

And that’s also really something! With names such as
Obsenity Trial,
Bloodpit,
Diorama,
Imatem and
Eisbrecher it’s not easy to decide weather you’re going to be at the main or the second stage! The Saturday only gets better and better when
Funker Vogt will perform, followed by the always energetic performances of
Unheilig and
ASP. To close the night the gentlemen of
Front 242 will rock the stage: a gig that will definitely be remembered.

Sunday
On Sunday the ‘Gothic Special’ stage will open its doors, and by revealing the line-up it’s no longer a secret where the stage got its name from! You’ll be able to see the memorable performance of
Emilie Autumn, a special show of unique act
Untoten, and of course another highlight:
Zeromancer.
Katzenjammer Kabarett,
Fetisch:Mensch, and
Down Below are some other names you can’t miss and there will be a very special surprise at the end of the day: the first gig
Dreadful Shadows will give after their split seven years ago!

It won’t be an easy job for the main stage to compete with the ‘Gothic Specials’ on Sunday, but just take a look at the line-up! With your feet still recovering from
Saltatio Mortis’ bagpipes you have to be on the again for
Heimataerde, which will definitely make you want to dance again. After that you can rest your feet a while, but not your neck: since the energetic metal from
Krypteria needs headbangers! Last years the performance of
Samsas Traum was an audience favourite, so it’s no big surprise that they’ll show up again. And when you have some power left after all these performances plus the work of
Portion Control,
Mesh,
Frontline Assembly and
Subway to Sally you can give it you all at the last performance of the day from
Apoptygma Berzerk.
