Beyond Sensory Experience (int)

<< Back
Beyond Sensory Experience was formed in 2001 when Drakhon moved to Uppsala and joined forces with scientist/artist K. Meizter.

The foundation of BSE developed during long intoxicated discussions about the correlation between numbers, music and life. These three areas would serve as the corner stones for the creation of the BSE philosophy.

During 2002 episodes of different musical contexts were tried out until the final concept evolved in collaboration with the Italian label Old Europa Café. "Tortuna", which is the first album of a trilogy covering the three basic areas, is the result of an intense creative process performed in the nordic absence of sun and was released in early 2003. During that year, the trilogy was completed by the release of "Urmula" and "Ratan".

In 2004, BSE added a visual dimension to the trilogy with the DVD "Dimension Upsaliensis". In addition, a new album, "Korrelations", containing interpretations and remixes of trilogy material by fellow artists was released.

The reception of the trilogy, both from fans and the press, has been well above all expectations. Highlights being nice reviews of "Ratan" and "Korrelations" in the acclaimed magazine The Wire, and the premiere of "Dimension Upsaliensis" at the 2004 Uppsala International Short Film Festival.

As the journey continued, BSE decided to end their long and fruitful relationship with Old Europa Café in favour of the legendary Swedish label Cold Meat Industry.

Evolving the basic trilogy concept, focus now switches to life and sexuality. With "Pursuit Of Pleasure", BSE take dark ambient to yet another level of insight.

K. Meizter & Drakh, April 2005.

How can existence be dull if this kind of music is being made? While listening on the headphones and writing this review, I looked over my shoulder various times because I thought I heard something ... THAT was how much I got sucked into the atmospheres ...Read more
