Within the Neofolk genre, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio is the one of the most important and famous bands. Their acoustic work also contains some ambient, soundscapes and samples. Although their lyrics are a bit erotic the music is very accessible and attractive to a lot of different listeners. Just listen to their new album ‘Onani’. Concerts of Ordo Rosarius Equilbrio are very rare, so it is a big honour that this fantastic band will perform live in
Utrecht this evening.
Because of some traffic difficulties I arrived very late ate the
Tivoli. It was a big shame because Tomas, Rose-Marie and three live musicians were already playing. First thing I notices was the massive audience. The
Tivoli was packed and the audience was enjoying themselves very much. Their was no bondage act this time, but singer Rose-Marie was singing her parts instead of. Her charming but static presents seems to do the show a lot of good. The addition of a live guitarist, bassist and drummer gave the music a whole new dimension. And of course Tomas played some percussion. All this gave the show a very special and warm atmosphere. Most of the songs performed this evening were of the last three Ordo albums. When Tomas played old familiar songs like ‘[Mercury Rising] Seduced by the Kisses of Cinnabar Sweet’ , ‘Lost Forever, in the Blitzkrieg of Roses’ and ‘Hell is where the Heart is - The Gospel of Tomas’, the audience went dancing and even sung along the beautiful lyrics. The new songs were also very nice and got appreciated by the most part of the listeners. The atmosphere this evening was intense, intimate and a bit erotic, but that was caused by the projection of on the background of the stage. After an encore of four songs there came an end to this intense and beautiful concert. Review by: Gaby
